A series of grenade attacks in Srinagar today put the valley back in the news... desperating! Why do we people need such a horrible event to get somehow back to reality, realising this conflict is not finished yet... But I need to update kind of a " risk-report " to all of you who have been asking about "what risks for tourists travelling in Kashmir ?" ... I was so happy to tell you about a good evolution of the situation, as it was now possible for both indian and western tourists to enjoy the beauties of the valley. A sleepy village 10 kms from Pahalgam , is the first step on the way to the world famous Kohlai glacier. From here one can also trek to Tarsar, Marsar lakes or Sonamarg. The chirrup of birds, the gentle swish of the breeze, the sapphire coloured sky, and all at 2408m above sea level - this is Aru.
